This 6-day trip is set to share an unforgettable adventure in Uganda, the Pearl of Africa with Hillary Uganda Trips. Over six days, you will trek with chimpanzees in Kibale, enjoy thrilling game drives and a boat safari in Queen Elizabeth, and experience the ultimate highlight, coming face-to-face with majestic mountain gorillas in Bwindi’s Rushaga sector. Blending adventure, comfort, and romance, this journey is crafted especially for you both to create lifelong memories together before a smooth departure through Kigali.

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe & Drive to Kibale National Park

  • Arrival at Entebbe International Airport (early arrival recommended).
  • Meet your driver-guide and transfer to Kibale National Park, the “Primate Capital of the World.”
  • Enjoy scenic drives through tea plantations, crater lakes, and local villages.
  • Check in and relax.
  • Drive Time: 5-6 hours.
  • Accommodation (Mid-range): Turaco Treetops or similar

 

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

  • Morning chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park (2-5 hrs depending on movements).
  • Spot colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and birds.
  • After lunch, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

 

Day 3: Game Drive in Queen Elizabeth – Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

  • Early morning game drive in Kasenyi Plains for lions, elephants, buffalo, and antelope.
  • Return for late breakfast.
  • Afternoon boat safari on the Kazinga Channel, famous for hippos, elephants, crocodiles, and water birds.
  • Evening at the lodge.

 

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Rushaga Sector)

  • Breakfast then drive south through the Ishasha sector, with a chance of spotting tree-climbing lions.
  • Continue to Bwindi (Rushaga sector).
  • Arrive in the afternoon, check in, and rest.

 

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi (Rushaga Sector)

  • Early breakfast, then head to Rushaga briefing point.
  • Gorilla trekking adventure (2-6 hrs depending on the gorilla family location).
  • One unforgettable hour with the gorillas.
  • Return and relax at the lodge or enjoy an optional Batwa cultural visit.

 

Day 6: Drive to Kigali – Departure

  • Breakfast at the lodge.
  • Drive to Kigali, Rwanda, crossing at Katuna border.
  • Depending on flight time: short Kigali city tour (optional) including the Genocide Memorial or craft markets.
  • Drop-off at Kigali International Airport for departure.
    • Drive Time: 4 – 5 hours (Rushaga – Kigali).
